FORT WORTH, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys are expected to sign eight-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Von Miller to a one-year deal, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram learned. The news was first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Miller, 37, returns to his native DFW where it all began for him at DeSoto High School in the 2000s. The NFL’s active leader in sacks with 138.5 bolsters Dallas’ pass rush efforts with veteran experience and proven Pro Bowl-caliber play off the edge.

The 14-year veteran has teased a potential signing with the Cowboys in recent weeks on social media, but it will now be made official when pen is put to paper on the already agreed-to terms of the deal.

The MVP of Super Bowl 50 and twice the runner-up for the AP Defensive Player of the Year Award, Miller has already etched his name among the best pass rushers of all-time. He is tied for 13th all-time in career sacks — with former Denver Broncos teammate and Cowboys Ring of Honor member DeMarcus Ware, and sits just three sacks away from entering the top-10.

Last season, Miller played in all 17 games for the Washington Commanders and posted nine sacks despite just playing 37% of snaps. While he hasn’t made a Pro Bowl since 2019, Miller did win a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 and has posted 32.5 sacks over the last six seasons.
