NEW YORK — Former New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor is on the mend following what appears to be a minor stomach issue.

“He’s dealing with some abdominal issues, but he’s going to be fine,” his friend, attorney Arthur Aidala, told the New York Daily News on Friday.

TMZ reported Friday that Taylor was hospitalized in New Jersey after experiencing “a medical emergency.”

He was reportedly brought to a Garden State hospital emergency room, then transferred elsewhere within the facility.

The 67-year-old Hall of Famer’s medical issue was reported after the Giants drafted pass rusher Arvelle Reese on the opening night of the 2026 NFL draft on Thursday. Big Blue is hoping Reese, who has an inch and a few pounds on Taylor, can match his career totals. Taylor won two Super Bowls and was selected to 10 Pro Bowls. He’s largely regarded as the best football player to have worn a Giants uniform.

Aidala served as Taylor’s attorney in a 2011 criminal case that resulted in two sexual misconduct misdemeanor pleas. Taylor is quoted on Aidala’s website as saying “Arthur Aidala saved my life.”

He’d been accused of rape.

Taylor battled substance abuse issues after leaving the NFL. He was appointed to President Trump’s President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition in August.

It’s not clear when he’ll return home from his current hospital stay.
