MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Timberwolves improved to 5-3 on the NBA season with a 112-100 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

LaMelo Ball, who was questionable to even play in this game, started out firing on all cylinders, but it took the rest of the team quite a while to catch up with star Anthony Edwards out following knee surgery.

Ball finished the game with a season-high 34 points to go with six rebounds and three assists.

The Bucks, who dropped to 1-6 after trading star Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat in the offseason, kept this game close until the Wolves started to pull away late in the third quarter. Trey Lyles and Ayo Dosunmu combined for 18 points in the third to help their team gain separation.

The Wolves were playing without Terrence Shannon Jr., who was a late scratch because of a hip contusion, and Jaden McDaniels found himself in foul trouble.

Despite being shorthanded, the Wolves were able to come out on top.
