The Minnesota Timberwolves were finally tested four games into the 2026-27 NBA season.

After opening with three straight blowout wins, they tussled with the Cleveland Cavaliers down the stretch Monday at Rocket Arena.

They came up just short. The Wolves, playing for the second straight day after defeating the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, fell 127-125 in overtime for their first loss of the season.

They were up 60-50 at halftime, but Cleveland rallied to tie the score entering the fourth quarter.

Anthony Edwards had a game-high 47 points despite being listed as questionable with a knee injury earlier today. Edwards dealt with issues in that knee last season. LaMelo Ball had 11 points, six assists and seven turnovers for the Wolves.

Joan Beringer added 12 points, seven rebounds and two blocks off the bench, while Rudy Gobert had a game-high 19 rebounds.

Donovan Mitchell led the Cavs (2-1) with 26 points.
