MINNEAPOLIS — This might have been a different story if the Raptors had been able to roll out Kawhi Leonard, but the Minnesota Timberwolves weren’t going to let up just because Toronto was missing its star player.

The Timberwolves are still undefeated in this young season after beating the Raptors, 117-94.

If you’re an NBA team that’s going to shoot upwards of 52% from 3-point range for the majority of the game (48.4% including the garbage time minutes), play lockdown defense and share the wealth of scoring across the roster, you’re going to be pretty hard to beat no matter the opponent.

That’s what the Wolves did on Sunday.

It was Anthony Edwards leading the way with 26 points, but once again he had plenty of help with four other players in double-figures and Ayo Dosunmu right on the cusp with nine points.

LaMelo Ball finished what felt like 100 highlight-reel plays but realistically was 15 points and eight assists. Terrence Shannon Jr. had 15 points, Jaden McDaniels added 14 points and Jonathan Kuminga chipped in 13.

This one was finished before the midway mark of the fourth quarter and was even more of a drubbing then the final score suggests. Wolves coach Chris Finch pulled his starters and emptied the bench with 4:36 left in the game.

The Wolves are now 3-0 as they turn their attention to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night.
