Aces drop Game 2 to Fever, setting up win-or-go-home Game 3

INDIANAPOLIS — The Las Vegas Aces aren’t advancing to the WNBA semifinals.
Yet.
The defending WNBA champions stumbled Tuesday to a 99-89 loss to the Indiana Fever at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, tying their first-round, best-of-three series at a win apiece.
The decisive Game 3 is set for Thursday at Michelob Ultra Arena, where the Aces rolled Sunday to a blowout Game 1 win.
Jackie Young scored 31 to lead Las Vegas, which got 22 points and nine rebounds from A’ja Wilson and 10 points and seven assists from Chelsea Gray. The Aces were outscored 54-34 in the second and third quarters combined after leading 26-18 following the first amid physical pressure from Indiana.
Caitlin Clark led Indiana with 27 points and 15 assists, controlling play with her pace in transition, dribble penetration and passing touch. Kelsey Mitchell added 25 points and Aaliyah Boston scored 22.
