Pistons suffer setback to Suns as Dillon Brooks scores 40 points

PHOENIX — The Detroit Pistons had no answer for Dillon Brooks Thursday night inside Mortgage Matchup Center. He scored a career-high 40 points on 13-of-22 shooting with four 3-point field goals, which resulted in the Pistons' 114-96 loss to the Phoenix Suns. With the defeat, the Pistons fell to 34-12 on the season.
Cade Cunningham led the way for Detroit with 26 points on 8-of-22 shooting from the field, to go along with seven assists. Jalen Duren posted his 21st double-double of the season with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Tobias Harris contributed with 13.
The Pistons had another rough night when it came to 3-point shooting, finishing 6 of 29 from behind the arc.
Grayson Allen added 24 points for the Suns (29-19), who were missing star guard Devin Booker.
