NEW YORK — Juan Soto’s return appears imminent.

The Mets are expected to activate the superstar slugger on Wednesday after a nearly three-week stint on the injured list, according to multiple reports.

Tuesday night’s series opener against the Minnesota Twins at Citi Field was set to be the 15th game in a row missed by Soto since he suffered a minor right calf strain while running the bases on April 3.

The Mets won that game after Soto exited in the first inning, as well as each of their next three. But the Mets entered Tuesday on an 11-game losing streak since then, with their offense managing only 19 runs, or 1.7 per game, during that stretch.

The return of Soto should help that scuffling offense. He is hitting .355 (11 for 31) with a home run, five RBIs and a .928 OPS in eight games this season.

That’s after Soto set career highs with 43 home runs and 38 stolen bases in 2025, the first season of his 15-year, $765 million contract with the Mets.

Soto did not express much concern after tweaking his right calf, and the Mets waited a few days before placing him on the IL.

“I’ve experienced calf tightness before,” Soto, 27, said on April 4. “This definitely is not the worst I’ve felt. So I feel positive with where we’re at right now.”

But the Mets ultimately exercised caution with the four-time All-Star, giving him time to heal rather than risk him re-aggravating the strain.
