The Chicago White Sox home opener has been pushed back a day because of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast.

The Sox were scheduled to play host to the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday afternoon in their first game of the season at Rate Field. The home opener now will take place at 1:10 p.m. Friday.

Parking lots will open at 10 a.m., and gates to Rate Field will open at 11:10 a.m.

All tickets for Thursday’s postponed game — including prepaid parking passes, Stadium Club passes, Ballpark Pass tickets and patio tickets — are good for admission to Friday’s rescheduled game.

The National Weather Service Chicago forecast for Thursday calls for a 100% chance of showers and thunderstorms.
