Strong storms down trees, cause 80,000 power outages in Kentucky

Severe storms moved into the region Tuesday evening, leading to multiple reports of downed trees and utility lines as the storms passed through Lexington late Tuesday afternoon.
Some traffic lights were reportedly out around town, but the worst effects were being felt elsewhere in the state.
More than 84,000 Kentucky customers were without electricity as of just after 5:30 p.m., according to PowerOutage.us. Most of the outages were concentrated in Northern and Central Kentucky.
Fayette County had 3,197 outages reported.
The National Weather Service said another round of storms could move in Wednesday evening. People were urged to have multiple ways of getting weather warnings and to stay aware of weather conditions.
