More than 400 flights delayed at Denver International Airport for wind

DENVER — More than 400 flights are delayed at Denver International Airport and arriving flights are more than an hour late due to wind and weather as thunderstorms roll across northern Colorado.
There were 469 flights delayed at DIA as of 2:45 p.m., according to the flight tracking website FlightAware. Most of the delays were on Southwest and United airlines.
The airport is on a traffic management program and arriving flights are delayed an average of 1 hour and 16 minutes because of wind, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
National Weather Service forecasters reported wind gusts of 47 mph as of 2:45 p.m.
