megillah \meh-GIL-uh\ (noun) - 1 : Slang. A tediously detailed or embroidered account. 2 : Megillah. The scroll containing the biblical narrative of the Book of Esther, traditionally read in synagogues to celebrate the festival of Purim.
"While everyone was anxious to hear Jan's account of her perilous escape from the foreign country, nobody was prepared for the embroidered megillah that she set forth, and many were asleep before it ended."
