Celebrity Travel: Go away with Madison Shamoun
A: I don’t remember this trip, but when I was a baby my mother took me to visit family in Vermont. She said I got really sick, so I must’ve hated it. (Laughs.)
Q: What's the most important thing you've learned from your travels?
A: Bring a friend who’s been there before or make a friend that knows the language while traveling. Recommendations are always better than doing typical touristy stuff. That and always have some snacks on hand.
Q: Where are your favorite weekend getaways?
A: Staycations are where it’s at. Monterey Bay, Santa Barbara, San Diego, Joshua Tree. Anywhere I can get a massage, eat some good food and be in a little bit of nature.
Q: If you've ever gone away for the holidays, which was the best trip?
A: I’ll always remember my childhood Christmas in Vermont. We don’t really get snow here in Southern California so it’s just beyond magical to have a white Christmas. Going sledding, building snowmen, having snowball fights – (it’s) truly just the best.
Q: Do you speak any foreign languages?
A: I learned to write Latin and Arabic in school when I was young and then spoke Spanish in middle (and) high school, dabbled in ASL and then took French in college. But that all feels so long ago. I wish I spoke them fluently!
Q: Where would you like to go that you have never been to before?
