Seriously Simple: Gourmet chef's clever take on bananas foster is a sweet success

1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom

1/4 teaspoon salt

8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

1 cup sugar

 

2 large eggs

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Grease and lightly flour a 9-by-5-by-3-inch loaf pan.
