Why did Jesus ask and answer His own questions, even claiming that He spoke as God Himself?

Q: If Jesus was truly all-knowing and humble, why did He ask and answer His own questions, even claiming that He spoke as God Himself? – J.Q.
A: Jesus is the only man who ever lived who was sinless. He could stand in front of men and ask, “Which of you convicts Me of sin?” (John 8:46, NKJV). He was hounded by the enemy day and night, but they never found any sin in Him. He was without spot or blemish. He made Himself of no reputation. He received no honor from men. He was born in a stable and reared in the insignificant village of Nazareth. He humbled Himself as no other man has ever humbled himself.
Jesus taught with such authority that the people of His day said, “No man ever spoke like this Man!” (John 7:46, NKJV). His word was historically, scientifically, and ethically true; no loopholes in the moral conceptions and statements of Jesus Christ. His ethical vision was wholly correct in the age in which He lived and in every age since the beginning of time. The words of this blessed Person were prophetically true. He prophesied many things that are even yet in the future, and they will happen. Are you watching with spiritual eyes?
Lawyers tried to trip Him up with trick questions, but they couldn’t confuse Him. His answers to His opponents were clear and clean-cut. He spoke with such simplicity that the common people heard Him gladly, and many received Him. His words were profound and weighty – His enemies were staggered at His wisdom and authority, yet many rejected Him.
Jesus asked this question: “Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father …” (John 14:10).
This is the question we must all answer. Do you believe this?
