Won't Heaven be boring?

From the writings of the Rev. Billy Graham

Q: I hope I'll to go to Heaven when I die, but to be honest, it sounds kind of boring. Am I wrong? I mean, what will we do with all that time on our hands? -- P.F.

A: Yes, you are wrong; Heaven will be far more exciting than anything we'll ever experience on earth! The one thing we will never be in Heaven is bored.

Why is this? One reason is because we will be with God -- and because He is infinite and eternal, we will never grow tired of exploring the riches of His glory. Nor will we ever be able to exhaust the wonders of His love -- a love so great that He sent His Son to give His life for our salvation. We also will be with Christ, and we will have new bodies that will never grow weary or sick or old.

Perhaps God also will give us an opportunity to explore the glories of the universe He created -- from the smallest sub-atomic particle to the most distant galaxies. As the Psalmist wrote, "How many are your works, Lord! In wisdom you made them all" (Psalm 104:24).

But we won't be sitting around doing nothing. Instead, God will have work for us to do -- although without getting tired like we do here. In Heaven, the Bible says, "his servants will serve him" (Revelation 22:3).

The real issue, however, is this: Do you know for certain that you will go to Heaven when you die? You can be sure, by giving your life to Jesus Christ and trusting Him for your salvation. Don't delay, but commit your life to Him today. Then you'll know that Jesus' promise is true: "My Father's house has many rooms ... I am going there to prepare a place for you" (John 14:2).
