Patriots fan wins $100,000 from Ravens lottery ticket

(UPI) A New England Patriots fan in Maryland is rethinking her team loyalty after winning $100,000 from a Baltimore Ravens scratch-off lottery ticket.
The 53-year-old Baltimore woman told Maryland Lottery officials she ended up with a pair of $5 Baltimore Ravens scratch-off tickets despite her preference for the New England Patriots when she requested $30 worth of random games at G&T Liquors in Baltimore.
"It didn't matter that a Ravens scratch-off was in the bunch," she said. I just like playing all of the scratch-offs.
The woman said playing outside her fandom paid off when the first ticket turned out to be a winner.
"I thought it was a $5 winner, but saw it was really $100,000," she said. I didn't know I would get the big one, but I just did.
She said the jackpot might be enough to shift her team allegiance -- to the delight of her husband, a Ravens fan.
"Yes, I like the Ravens now," she said. I might even watch the next game.
