Fallen crates spill onions onto Idaho highway

(UPI) A road in Idaho was left covered in onions after several crates fell off a truck on Tuesday afternoon.
Nampa Police Department shared a photo of the massive spillage that obstructed traffic in both directions on a local high way and encouraged drivers to avoid the area if possible.
Lieutenant Joe Ramirez said the truck was not involved in a crash and the crates simply fell off the truck at about 4 p.m. after it stopped too quickly.
"It was a random onion spill, someone on their way to harvest," Ramirez said.
Traffic was backed up for about two hours as police and the City of Nampa Street Department worked to clean up the street.
"We are lucky to have such great partners," police said. We'll let you know when it's all cleaned up!
It was unknown what happened to the onions after the clean-up, but some were spotted at the scene carrying bags in hopes of taking some home.
