There are FOUR mates in three today. The first is the diagram. Then, for your additional amusement, Put the knight on a8 and b8 and e8 for additional mates in three.


A. Grin in 1971 composed this. From the diagram: 1.Ra6 Nb6 2.Rxb6 h6 3.Rxh6 mate. From the knight on e8 it’s 1.Rb6 Nf6 2.Rb8+ Ng8 3.Rxg8 mate From the knight on b8 it’s 1.Re6 Nd7 2.Re8+ Nf8 3. Rxe8 mate. With the knight on a8 it’s 1.Rd6 Nc7 2.Rd8+ Ne8 3.Rxe8mate
