A two-mover by the Canadian composer C.F. Stubbs (1853-1907). He makes the knight work, but to no avail!


Solution:

For every knight move there is a different mate! Quite an ingenious construction. 1.Rc6 Nxc3 [1...Nb4 2.cxb4#; 1...Nb6 2.Rc5#; 1...Nxc7 2.Bd8#; 1...Ne7 2.Bxe7#; 1...Nf6 2.Bxf6#; 1...Nf4 2.Bxf4#; 1...Ne3 2.Bxe3#] 2.Bd2#
