ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Vice President JD Vance will not be traveling to Minnesota on Friday morning after all, according to the spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Minnesota. The cancellation comes hours after the vice president’s office said Vance would be in St. Cloud with a fraud-related announcement.

White House officials did not immediately respond to a request for confirmation. The Federal Aviation Administration no longer lists a “VIP movement” notice for the St. Cloud airport.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office did not provide a reason for the last-minute cancellation, but said that another speaker would appear at a news conference in St. Cloud on Friday.

On Thursday, President Donald Trump also pulled out of weekend campaign rallies in Iowa and Kansas, announcing he’d shift to “tele-rallies” across nearly 20 states.

Vance, who heads a White House task force on fraud, had been expected to announce new details in the administration’s “War on Fraud,” according to a news release.

On Thursday, federal and state authorities executed search warrants on two Twin Cities autism service providers.
