NORFOLK, Va. — A sailor who went missing from the USS Harry S. Truman on June 14 has been found dead.

According to the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, Isaac Benjamin Morris’ body was discovered Friday in the water near the piers at Naval Station Norfolk.

“The entire Truman team is grieving the loss of Fireman Apprentice Isaac Morris,” said Capt. Daniel Prochazka, commanding officer of USS Harry S. Truman. “Our hearts are with his family, friends and shipmates, and we are focused on supporting them with care and compassion during this difficult time.”

Morris was an engineman fireman apprentice from California. He joined the Navy in October 2025 and reported to the Truman in April.

Another sailor who went missing from Naval Station Norfolk June 2 remains unaccounted for.

An NCIS spokesperson declined to provide additional information about Seaman Apprentice Alexander Schlageter’s disappearance, citing an ongoing investigative process.
