WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump said he is revoking former President Joe Biden’s access to intelligence briefings.

Trump announced the move Friday shortly after arriving at his Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago, from the White House. He said he was “immediately revoking” Biden’s security clearances and halt the reports known as the presidential daily brief, which are typically given to former presidents.

Trump said Biden cannot “be trusted with sensitive information.” He cited a report from special counsel Robert Hur, which last year said that Biden mishandled classified information but that the evidence didn’t support bringing charges.

Trump said Biden set the precedent four years earlier. Biden, in 2021, said he would rescind Trump’s access to security briefings, citing Trump’s “erratic behavior.” He said his decision was unrelated to the Jan. 6 violence at the Capitol.

A spokesperson for Biden did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
