"Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School is being shot up," he said before the line went dead.

Another call came from a man in Coral Springs who said he was relaying information from a girl in the school.

He spoke of rescue units and multiple calls coming in but it was unclear if he was calling from another agency.

"It sounded like possible shots in the background," he said. "I think I heard five or six in two different bursts." He quickly followed up to say he got another call from someone advising that "someone was shot in the 1200 Building."

Another woman is heard on one of the recordings telling a student: "I love you! I love you! It's going to be fine. Can you hide somewhere? Can you play dead? You need to do it. If he shoots, you need to play dead ... Tell her to pray. Tell her to pray for strength."
