September serves as hot warmup to fall festival season

By Steve Palisin, The Sun News (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) on

Published in Senior Living Features

Fall brings the most festive time of year to the Grand Strand, as in festivals.

With the waning of summer heat as the calendar makes strides through September and the start of a long shoulder season to celebrate harvests and Halloween, toward Thanksgiving, stand out, step out and take in some special events. Besides the bountiful array of celebratory affairs and benefits, take a few moments, too, to pause for one of the remembrance events for Sept. 11, 2001.

Here's a sampling of activities and outings for this month, and on Oct. 3, look for the next massive roundup of things to do for October, the peak time for festivities.
