Phish covers Stones' 'Exile' for Halloween
Spin magazine reported online Sunday that Phish continued its Halloween tradition of covering an entire seminal album by devoting the band's Festival 8 performance in Indio, Calif., to the Stones' 1972 album.
Among the Stones' hits performed at Saturday's concert were "Rocks Off," "Rip This Joint" and "All Down the Line."
Spin said Phish's performance during the second night of the California festival marked the most recent show in the band's post-hiatus comeback tour.
Phish, whose own albums include "Hoist" and "Junta," began doing entire album covers for Halloween in 1994 and has since covered popular works such as the Beatles' "White Album" and "Quadrophenia" from The Who.
