Aaron McGruder

Aaron McGruder began his controversial comic "The Boondocks" in 1997 for student newspaper "The DiamondBack." Two years later, it made its national debut, and has since earned devoted readers -- both fans and critics -- across America. Besides his political statements in "The Boondocks," McGruder also makes his views known in his graphic novel "Birth of a Nation" and in public speaking tours around the country. McGruder now lives in Los Angeles, where he works on both the comic strip and the animated series it has inspired, currently running on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.
