Golden Knights start hot, fall hard in loss to Jets
Published in Hockey
The Vegas Golden Knights failed to build off the momentum from their biggest win of the season in a 4-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets at Canada Life Centre on Tuesday.
Two days after the Knights (32-26-14) were rewarded with a much-needed win in Dallas, they opened the first period with the game’s first nine shots.
The Jets (30-29-12) capitalized with a one-time goal from leading scorer Kyle Connor with 2:35 left in the first period.
Winnipeg scored twice in 1:58 early in the second to take a 3-0 lead early in the middle frame.
Colton Sissons scored a power-play goal to give the second unit a third straight game with a goal, but the Knights couldn’t generate anything else offensively.
The Knights’ fourth-ranked power play finished 1 for 5
Adin Hill finished with 17 saves, as the Knights went 1-2 on their road trip.
The Knights had 13 shots in the first period and were held to 14 in the final two combined.
