Tigers Woods’ private plane reportedly touched down in Zurich Friday.
A Florida judge reportedly gave the embattled golfer permission to leave the U.S. for treatment after he was charged with DUI following a rollover crash last week. TMZ confirmed his plane landed in Zurich around 10 a.m. local time. The jet is said to have then returned to the U.S.
The gossip site didn’t confirm spotting Woods, though it’s assumed he could be headed to a Swiss rehabilitation clinic for help with his alleged addiction issues.
Woods was arrested on March 27 after his SUV clipped a work vehicle near the golfer’s Florida home and wound-up on its side. Police reported finding two hydrocodone pills in the 50-year-old Presidential Medal of Freedom winner’s pockets when he was searched at the crash site. He allegedly confessed to taking painkillers the morning of the afternoon incident.
Woods said on Tuesday that he would take time away to focus on his recovery.
“I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health,” he posted on X
Augusta National Golf Club Chairman Fred Ridley confirmed Woods will not be competing for a sixth Masters Tournament championship when competition begins in Georgia Monday.
Woods’ attorney convinced a Florida court that his famous client needed to seek treatment abroad due to privacy concerns.
TMZ reported that Woods appeared to have called President Trump while authorities were investigating last week’s auto crash.
“He’s got some difficulty,” the President told reporters from an airport tarmac on the day Woods was arrested.
