Ravens' Lamar Jackson practices, addresses injury: 'Can't call it right now'

BALTIMORE — Clad in shorts and a T-shirt and with his left ankle heavily taped, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson limped to the podium Friday afternoon in Owings Mills.
Whether he will return Sunday afternoon against the Cincinnati Bengals at M&T Bank Stadium remains in question.
“I’m heading in the right direction,” Jackson said Friday in his first comments to reporters since suffering the injury midway through an Oct. 4 win over the Tennessee Titans. “I can’t call it right now.”
Jackson practiced for a third straight day Friday, raising hopes that he could potentially return for the AFC North showdown.
However, he was not on the field when practice ended. He also said the injury is a high-ankle sprain and disputed an NFL Network report that it was less severe.
“It was very, very, very, very, very painful,” Jackson said, adding that he turned a corner this week but still has foot pain when he plants it, and that’s the biggest problem. “Just trying to move how I move. If I can’t do that, I can’t help my team.”
Jackson was a limited participant this week after missing two games with the ankle injury. The two-time NFL Most Valuable Player was in uniform for a second straight day during the open portion of Friday’s practice in Owings Mills after wearing street clothes on Wednesday.
“Between Lamar and our staff and us, it’s gonna be a decision based on him and how he feels and how effective he can be,” coach Jesse Minter said. “He’s had a good couple days, but we’ll see how it goes over the next 48 hours.
“I think it’s in that phase where it will go as long as it needs to take.”
The team will release an official injury report with game statuses later in the afternoon.
The Ravens (4-2) are 1-1 without Jackson this season. Tyler “Snoop” Huntley led an overtime win in Atlanta, but the offense then fell flat in a 13-10 loss to Cleveland.
