Betting on the outcome of the Super Bowl and what happens on the field is popular, and so is betting what happens outside of game time.

Fans can bet on a number of things that have no impact on the game itself, like the color of Gatorade a team dumps on the winning coach or how long the halftime show performer plays.

These bets are known as prop bets, and while they’re silly, they can win you some money. Here’s a look at which bets landed during Super Bowl LIX.

Coin toss

As the designated away team, the Kansas City Chiefs picked the outcome of the coin toss and chose tails. They were correct.

Equal odds were given by FanDuel for the coin toss, with heads and tails both sitting at -104. They also gave each team equal odds to win the coin toss, with both the Eagles and Chiefs at -104.

FanDuel’s odds to win the coin toss and also win the game had the Chiefs at +260 and the Eagles at +310.

First song of the halftime show

Kendrick Lamar was this year’s halftime show performer, and the first song he played was “gnx,” a song featured on his 2024 album of the same name.

“Not Like Us,” the diss track toward hip-hop artist Drake that won Record of the Year and Song of the Year at the 2025 Grammys, was the favorite to be played first, with FanDuel’s odds placing the hit song at +195. It came toward the end instead.

National anthem

Another popular prop bet is how long the national anthem takes before the big game. The anthem was performed by Louisiana native and jazz composer Jon Batiste.

Batiste’s rendition unofficially lasted 2 minutes, according to USA Today.

The over/under for the performance was set at 2 minutes and 0.5 seconds by sportsbook BetMGM. So whoever bet the under won some money.

Gatorade color

Viewers got the answer to the question of the celebratory Gatorade a little earlier than usual Sunday night.

A cooler of the sports drink was dumped on Eagles coach Nick Sirianni with nearly 3 minutes of game time remaining.

It turned out to be a yellowish green, which was the favored outcome by betting site BetMGM at -165.
