If Travis Kelce looked angry when he bumped his head coach Andy Reid on the sidelines during the Super Bowl Sunday, a lot of the people who saw him were angry, too.

Even Chiefs fans.

And fans of Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift.

And parents who vented on social media, wondering what would happen if their kids acted that way toward their coach.

Reid said later that Kelce soon apologized. But on social media, many say they wish Kelce would apologize to the public who saw anger on national TV, noting that children were watching.

“Now imagine Travis is a travel team parent and Andy Reid is a 16 year old referee/umpire,” one mom tweeted.

But is it fair, one X user tweeted during the heated backlash, to judge someone “based on a single, potentially misinterpreted moment caught on camera?”

The star tight end yelled at Reid after running back Isiah Pacheco fumbled in the first half and San Francisco recovered the ball.

Kelce approached Reid, yelled at him and bumped him. Reid, who didn’t see Kelce coming, was caught off guard and quickly caught his balance. Running back Jerick McKinnon pulled Kelce away, who was presumably upset that he wasn’t on the field for a crucial play.

Photos of Kelce’s red face, contorted in anger, sprouted on social media. In the stadium, he was seen during the commercial break, helmet off, pacing the sidelines as though he was trying to cool down.
