Pistons' defense accounts for blowout victory against Hornets

DETROIT — The Detroit Pistons have five more games before New Year's, but Saturday's Eastern Conference contest against the Charlotte Hornets was their final home game of 2025. The Pistons sent their fans home with high hopes for 2026 with a 112-86 victory at Little Caesars Arena. With the victory the Pistons improved to 22-6 on the season.
Cade Cunningham recorded his third triple-double of the season with 22 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds. Jalen Duren notched his 15th double-double of the season with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Tobias Harris added 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting and five rebounds.
The Pistons had one of their best defensive performances of the season, finishing the night with 16 steals and 11 blocks. Miles Bridges and Kon Knueppel led the Hornets with 19 points each.
