OAKLAND, Calif. -- Bob Myers stood at a podium on Monday afternoon to discuss his draft picks. He was not there to discuss free agency.

Hence, the Warriors' general manager kept his answers succinct on questions pertaining to free agency. The main one: Will Myers meet this week with Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson to discuss their future?

"Yes," Myers said.

NBA free agency officially begins on Sunday at 3 pm PT, but teams are allowed to set up meetings in advance. Unlike when the Warriors visited Durant in the Hamptons during his free agency three years ago, it appears unclear if they will set up any formal meetings with Durant amid his possible other options with the New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers. Still, the Warriors have adhered to Durant's wishes not to have any recruiting tactics, such as placing billboards around the Bay Area. As for Thompson, he expects to agree to a deal so long as he receives the five-year, $190 million the Warriors have said they will offer.

When it came to assessing his level of optimism both players will be with the Warriors, Myers simply shrugged his shoulders.

"We'll see," Myers said.

Myers added that Thompson might have surgery this week after tearing an ACL in his left knee in the Warriors' Game 6 elimination loss to the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Finals. Thompson expects to have surgery in Los Angeles, and has simply waited to have surgery to allow the swelling to subside.
