NEW YORK — As a nor’easter barreled through the tri-state area, the New York Yankees made several changes to their weekend plans.

A day after moving up CC Sabathia’s long-awaited number retirement ceremony, the Yanks made another change. Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles has been moved up to 1:05 p.m. ET, the team announced on Saturday.

The Bombers’ search for their 94th win — matching their season total last season — will come a little sooner than anticipated.

The game means virtually nothing as the Orioles have been eliminated for quite some time and the Yankees’ wild-card series against the Boston Red Sox has been locked in for a Tuesday start in the Bronx.

However, as Aaron Boone previously stated, it provides some sort of value in trying to see what works before the postseason.

The forecast still appears a bit uncertain heading into Tuesday, as this may not be the last of weather-impacted changes.
