The Cable Box Cull: Trimming the Invisible Entertainment Fat

on

Published in Personal Finance

When was the last time you sat down and meticulously audited every single entertainment charge hitting your credit card statement each month?

Most of us signed up for our traditional cable packages, premium movie channels, and multiple streaming services years ago and simply let them roll over on auto-pilot.

We pay for dozens of channels we never watch, sports packages we only use during one specific season, and streaming apps that haven't been opened in months.

It's time to perform a ruthless cable and streaming cull.

Cancel everything cold turkey for thirty days, and watch what happens. If you find yourself genuinely missing a specific service, you can always reactivate it later.

More than likely, you'll realize you were paying hundreds of dollars a year for digital background noise that you didn't even truly enjoy.
