VIDEO: Hazardous horse herd causes crash on stretch of highway

(UPI) A herd of horses stampeding on the shoulder of a Russian highway proved to be a distracting hazard and caused a collision that was caught on camera.
Dashboard camera footage recorded by a driver on a stretch of highway in the Chelyabinsk area shows a huge herd of horses running along the side of the road, with some of the equines standing in the roadway in front of a car stopped in the right lane to avoid hitting the animals.
The stopped car isn't noticed in time by another vehicle coming up the same lane and the driver, possibly distracted by the horses, rear-ends the stopped vehicle.
The horses, spooked by the crash, vacate the road and continue to run along the shoulder.
