(UPI) Interns at the University of Central Florida's Turtle Lab snapped photos of an extremely unusual discovery: A baby loggerhead turtle with two heads.
Kate Mansfield of the UCF turtle lab tweeted photos snapped by intern L. Rittenberg showing the two-headed loggerhead hatchling the interns encountered while out conducting research Tuesday.
"Our interns discovered this rare 2-headed loggerhead hatchling yesterday! It was alive & energetic. So cool!" Mansfield tweeted.
The UCF Marine Turtle Research Group is dedicated to studying and promoting conservation of sea turtles.
