Hamas bans women on motorbikes

GAZA (UPI) -- Women can no longer ride motorbikes in Gaza, the Palestinian Islamic movement Hamas has decreed.

The ban was posted on Hamas' interior ministry Web site, which said the government was seeking to "preserve citizen safety and the stability of Palestinian society's customs and traditions," The Guardian reported Wednesday.

The newspaper said the ban probably wouldn't have much practical effect since few women now ride motorbikes in Gaza. But analysts said it has raised alarms of a new "Islamization" campaign in the territory. Hamasuntil recently had shown few signs of trying to Islamize Gaza society since taking full security control over the area after a battle with its rival Palestinian faction, Fatah, but that may be changing.

The Guardian said a senior judge this summer imposed a dress code requiring female lawyers to wear robes and headscarves in court -- a move that has been denounced by human rights groups. Islamic patrols also reportedly tried to prevent unmarried couples from mixing in public and have banned mannequins from store windows.

Well stated bj.
[As a side note on a different issue to bj: Did you ever see my comments that rebutted your pro-vaccine stance? I was harsh and very serious. In brief it emphasized that vaccines must be a freedom of choice issue for 6 reasons. In brief:
1. One size fits all makes no sense as the 50 lbs child gets what the 500 lbs suma wrestler gets. The 5 lbs baby gets what a 10 lbs baby gets.
2. The ingredients include such things that I would not give my dog including but not limited to: mercury, aluminum, anti-freeze, formaldehyde, detergent.
3. With the number of vaccines given at one time for lots of diseases, are there any studies on the cumulative affects of these horrific ingredients? NO!
4. The vaccine-injury-fund was set up to help compensate those injured by vaccines [as the vaccine manufacturers are immune to suit] which confirms that a percent of the population are predisposed to serious to critical and even fatal injury, YET there are no studies to determine which children are predisposed to injury.
5. Any studies comparing the vaccinated population to the non-vaccinated population? NO!
6. The swine flu vaccine is being pushed on pregnant women YET there are to here no studies on its affects on the baby.
Bottom line: If you believe the benefits outweighs the risk, it is your choice to not vaccinate or not.

Karen is a funny girl.

And Karen has hit the nail on the head. They twist the rules to suit themselves and think if they act pious the fools will believe them. They have their members so uneducated and dumbed down that they may possibly believe their leaders. But the rest of the world knows what Islam is about and isn't buying it.
