Alligator sprints across fairway at Florida golf course, belly flops into water hazard

ENGLEWOOD, Fla. (UPI) -- A visitor to a Florida golf course captured video of a fleet-footed alligator sprinting across the fairway and doing a belly flop into a water hazard.
Linda Jameson posted a video to Facebook showing the alligator she encountered Dec. 1 on the fairway of a hole at Myakka Pines Golf Club in Englewood.
The video shows Jameson's golfing partner, Mike, looking on stunned as the gator saunters across the fairway.
The reptile breaks into a sudden sprint and barrels toward the water hazard, where it belly-flops into the water.
"Whoa! Look how fast he went!" Jameson says.
Alligator sightings are not unusual at the golf course, but the gator's unusual speed drew attention to Jameson's video.
"Gators CAN move fast!" the golf club said on Facebook.
