Point guard Kendall Marshall has been awarded to the Bucks on a waiver claim and will add to the team's backcourt depth.
The Bucks claimed the 22-year-old Marshall after he was waived by the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday. The former North Carolina guard averaged 8.0 points and 8.8 assists in 54 games with the Lakers last season, including 45 starts.
Marshall played with Bucks forward John Henson at North Carolina and the two were taken with back-to-back picks in the 2012 NBA draft. Marshall was chosen 13th overall by the Phoenix Suns and Henson went 14th to the Bucks.
Marshall joins Jerryd Bayless, Brandon Knight and second-year player Nate Wolters as point guard candidates for the Bucks.
Marshall ranked third in the league in assist-to-turnover ratio last season (3.18) and shot 39.9 percent from three-point range.
