Celebrity Travel: Go away with Mai Whelan of 'Squid Game: The Challenge'
A: I returned to Vietnam for the first time in October 2023 to reunite with my lost brother. After 48 years, we have finally met.
Q: What are your five favorite cities?
A: La Maddalena, Paris, London, Bruges (Belgium) and Kennebunkport (Maine).
Q: You won quite a bit of money on “Squid Game: The Challenge.” Will you take a dream vacation with some of the prize?
A: My dream vacation is going to the Maldives. But my goal is to take the winnings and do something good by forming a nonprofit to promote causes that have been near my heart for some time now – the underprivileged, animals and the environment.
Q: When you go away, what are some of your must-have items?
A: I need a straightener to tame my curls, glasses, floss, toothbrush and rosary.
Q: What is your best and/or worst vacation memory?
A: My best vacation was touring Europe for 30 days backpacking with my kids. There hasn't been a bad vacation to date. Even if there was, we somehow found a way to make it better.
