The Kitchn: A quick trick makes a ghostly treat for Halloween

By Faith Durand on

Halloween is coming, and cobwebs and orange lights are already appearing on the lawns in my neighborhood. What can I say? I think we're all ready for fall.

I'm not so adept at Halloween, however; it seems to require a level of craftiness that is beyond me. Well, not when you use a simple cake pan. If you want a sweet and spooky Halloween centerpiece, a cake pan does almost all of the work for you.

Look for the latest version of Nordic Ware's ghost cake pan at www.nordicware.com. All you have to do is bake your cake, then dust liberally with powdered sugar or drizzle a white glaze over top. No fancy decorating, no artistry required, but you have all the ghost (or Dementor) spookiness your Halloween table requires.

That's just about my level of Halloween craftiness -- isn't it nice when someone else does all the work for you?
