Report: Botox linked to 16 deaths
Botox is used by millions to reduce wrinkles and to treat rigid necks, The Daily Telegraph reported Saturday.
Public Citizen, a consumer advocacy group in the United States, is calling for the drug to contain warnings that it can kill, the British newspaper reported.
Public Citizen said it based its report on 180 complaints made about Botox to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, among them complaints of 16 deaths and 87 other people reporting weakened muscles and difficulty swallowing.
Botox's maker, Allergan, said risks associated with the drug already are made clear in labels on its box.
