Couple hold Thanksgiving wedding at store where they connected

ALBANY, Ga. (UPI) -- A Georgia couple spent their Thanksgiving getting married at the grocery store where they kindled their relationship four years earlier.

Charles Larry Tinson and Mary Tinson tied the knot Thursday at Harvey's Supermarket in Albany, four years after they had a chance encounter at the store on the same holiday.

Larry Tinson said he was picking up some last-minute cranberry sauce shortly after returning from a tour of duty in Afghanistan when he spotted his old friend.

"I heard someone say 'Hey girl' and I turned around and said 'Oh my God, Larry? I haven't seen you in over twenty something years," Mary Tinson told WALB-TV.

The pair started dating and the question of a wedding venue came up after their engagement.

"She asked me where are we going to get married and I said, 'At Harvey's where I met you at,'" Larry said.

"We are extremely excited to be part of this special day," said Ken Wicker, Harvey's vice president of operations. To our knowledge this is the first time we've ever had a real wedding in one of our supermarkets.

The store helped the couple plan their wedding and assisted them with obtaining the wedding cake -- which was appropriately topped with cranberries.

The couple weren't the first to hold their wedding inside a retail establishment -- a New York couple who met while waiting in line for an iPhone held their wedding inside a city Apple store.
