JoeJoe the Capybara looks after baby chicks

on

Published in Weird News

WASHINGTON (UPI) -- A reluctant capybara spent some time babysitting for a group of more than a dozen chirping baby chicks.

JoeJoe the Capybara managed to keep his composure and chew on a piece of lettuce as the rowdy chicks chirped and wandered about his bed.

"This is my life now!" JoeJoe's owners wrote, in response to his unwavering lack of interest in the tiny chicks.

About four chicks scaled the uninterested capybara and huddled together on his back as he continued to sit still with eyes half open.

The babysitting capybara only flinched when a pair of chickens happened to hop from their perch on his back, fluttering down toward his face.
