TAIPEI, Taiwan (UPI) -- A travel blogger visiting the Taiwanese capital captured video from inside a "stampede" of Pokemon Go players seeking a rare digital monster.

Samuel Huang, who documents his world travels on the Top Miles blog, said he was in Taipei recently when he was swept up in a large group of people leaving Beitou Park, a popular spot for Pokemon Go players.

Huang said he soon learned the crowd was seeking a Snorlax, a rare Pokemon said to have spawned nearby in the augmented reality game.

"After quite a hike I arrived at the main spawn point where the Snorlax was. Hundreds of Pokemon Go fans were taking up the entire block, with a lone policeman trying to control the crowd," he wrote.

The video shows Huang was able to catch the Snorlax, but some members of the crowd were not so lucky.
