Tennessee man buys winning $1M lottery ticket on work trip in North Carolina

RALEIGH, N.C. (UPI) -- A Tennessee man turned a work trip into a $1 million prize when he bought a winning lottery ticket while in North Carolina.
Charles Rollins stopped by the Pinedale Food Mart while working on a construction project when he decided to buy a pair of lottery tickets.
"I was just going to get a Powerball ticket," he said. But I decided to get an Ultimate Millions ticket as well.
Pinedale Food Mart employee Symantha Lowery told WCTI Rollins came back into the store about 10 minutes after buying the ticket when he realized he was a winner.
"I was in shock," he said. It took me thirty minutes just to drive down the street.
Rollins chose to take his winnings as a lump sum of $600,000 rather than 20 payments of $50,000.
His total winnings after taxes amount to $415,509 and he plans to use the money to pay off the remainder of his home.
