SAN ANTONIO (UPI) -- Authorities in San Antonio said thieves stole a forklift from a construction site and used it to destroy an ATM located across the street.

The San Antonio Police Department said the suspect or suspects stole the forklift from a construction site on Northwest Military Highway and drove it across the street to a Chase Bank branch about 2:38 a.m. Monday.

The forklift was used to uproot an ATM outside of the bank and steal the innards of the machine, including an undisclosed amount of cash.

The construction equipment was found abandoned with the engine still running behind a nearby shopping center.

Police said no suspects were located in the area.
