PONCE INLET, Fla. (UPI) -- A Florida man out fishing with his son captured video of what appears to be a 14-foot great white shark circling their boat off the coast of Volusia County.

Gino DellaCava, 42, recorded the video Sunday that was posted to Facebook by his son, Devin, 18.

Devin DellaCava wrote the pair were fishing 20 miles off the coast of Ponce Inlet when the shark approached their 50-foot boat and began to circle them.

The father and son estimated the shark at 14 feet long and about 2,000 pounds.

"She circled the back of our boat, and I was able to grab my phone and start to record. And I recorded as she swam the other side of the boat and then swam away," Gino DellaCava told the News 13 cable network.

The pair said they did not see any sign that the shark was tagged by researchers.

Shark expert George Burgess confirmed the shark seen in the footage is a great white.

"I was in awe, it is incredible to see such a large and majestic creature in person," Devin DellaCava told WOFL-TV.
